4th Ave & Pike, Downtown Seattle
I am experimenting with the texture and oil paint application in this small, 5 x 7 inch, oil study. I started with a white gesso board and use a palette knife to applied thick mixtures of local colors to block in the basic shapes and values of the building. I find it interesting how much detail is filled in by the eye.
The building is on the corner of 4th Avenue and Pike Street in Downtown Seattle.
